Storm Shelter for Flood Victims Changes Locations
The storm shelter set up for flood victims in the wake of the Jan. 22 storm has moved.
The new location is at the City of San Diego Municipal Gym at Balboa Park.
The County and the City of San Diego worked with the American Red Cross to change the site.
Anyone who needs shelter from the heavy rains is welcome.
Residents who had been staying at the Lincoln High School shelter were moved after the gym location which opened at 7 a.m. Thursday morning.
The gym is located at 2111 Pan American Plaza, San Diego, CA 92101. The phone number is (619) 525-8262.
Services include: a place for displaced people to stay, meals, snacks, crisis counseling, help replacing medication, pet support from the San Diego Humane Society.
Residents can stay informed by registering for AlertSanDiego.org and downloading the SD Emergency mobile app on their smart phone.
