County Animal Services serves only the unincorporated area, outside of cities.
Pets
We hold pets lost in a disaster at County animal shelters for extended periods of time so owners can get them. Search for lost pets in the unincorporated area, or call County Animal Services at 619-236-4250.
Large animals
Large animals and livestock will be held at temporary emergency shelters. Visit County Animal Services website or call 619-236-4250.
Pet safety when you return home
When bringing your animals home, remove all debris from fields, pastures or anywhere that animals roam. Look carefully for any small objects that could hurt your animals.
Check animal food for damage. Make sure their water is clean. Keep them away from floodwater or water sources that may be contaminated.
